The Shomer Play is a 90-minute stage drama written by Avi Pruzansky and directed by Michaela Bailey. It premiered at the Hudson Guild Theater in New York in 2025

Two young Orthodox Jews, Miri and Jacob, meet at a Passover retreat hotel and must navigate their burgeoning relationship while observing the Jewish concept of Shomer Negia. Shomer Negia translates to "guarding against touch," meaning that unmarried couples refrain from physical contact. The play follows Miri and Jacob as they grapple with their feelings for each other, their relationships with their families, and their faith.

The score for The Shomer Play is at times quirky and energetic, and at others heartfelt and romantic. The character themes begin separate, and draw closer and closer as the onstage relationship progresses.
